preventing hunger & malnutrition with urban gardening and sustainable agriculture
KONEKTE invited Harvest107 to a visit the school they work with in Fond Parisien, Haiti (next to Village Miracle) after seeing our work in action at Papillon Enterprise. The school’s headmaster had expressed his desire to have a garden for the students after KONEKTE assisted them with a water well. We are excited to make that dream reality. The school garden will help nourish and educate the 200 students of College Mixte Marius Carnold.
Harvest107 and 410 Bridge have partnered to create a large demonstration garden in Camp Marie, Haiti. This unique space is being developed to teach new farming/gardening techniques. The land was donated to 410 Bridge following a large scale water project benefiting the Camp Marie community. Harvest107 will take the lead on the design and development of the space followed by a co-venture on the education and training sessions.
Harvest107 is introducing a solar powered watering system for farmers. This project is part of our continuing efforts to support farmers devastated by Hurricane Matthew and other tropical storms. We are happy to announce our first water well site will be active before the close of 2017. Just one well will provide thousands of gallons of water to area farms, leading to better food production.
