OUR FOUNDER

In the summer of 2013, 12-year-old Gracie Pfaff read the book “The Good Garden: How One Family Went from Hunger to Having Enough” (Katie Smith Milway). The story inspired her so much that she ran to her Mom and asked if they could go to Africa and teach hungry people how to grow food. Her parents encouraged her to start local, before taking on another country.
Fast forward one year, and Gracie is now one of the youngest service leaders in the world. She is the founder of Harvest107 and making a huge impact on many people’s lives. Her first micro-farm was planted in Franklin, TN and is currently feeding 24 needy families on a continual basis. Some kids may have stopped there, but her heart is now set on making fresh food accessible to every person on the planet. She has recently expanded her projects to Haiti.
The young entrepreneur, now 14, still battles the typical teenage girl problems, like every girl her age. She is homeschooled, but on a mission to disprove the stereo-type. When she’s not working, Gracie loves to run, write songs, and dance.
When Gracie was asked, “What’s next?”, she replied:
“This is what’s next. This is all I want to do – I love it! I won’t stop until everyone has the option to eat fresh food.”
She is currently in the process of meeting other service leaders and potential partners to expand Harvest107’s operations as well as her education.
